Dr. Chigozirim "Chigo" Ekeke is a board-certified thoracic surgeon, Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan Medicine, and Surgical Director of the Michigan Surgical Health & Optimization Program (MSHOP). He specializes in complex lung, esophageal, airway, and chest wall disease, treating patients others might consider too high-risk using advanced robotic and minimally invasive techniques.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Ekeke developed the SHARP Method™—an educational framework that translates surgical decision-making protocols into leadership principles. His work bridges the gap between operating room precision and boardroom strategy, helping leaders make better decisions under pressure.

Dr. Ekeke serves on the Board of Directors for the American Lung Association – Detroit Chapter. His academic foundation in translational outcomes research informs both his clinical practice and his approach to leadership education, mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives.
